The Interchange Cpad3 building is a 108,000-sq.ft. multi-use concrete warehouse facility. The building provides for tenant spaces to include office space in the front of the building and loading dock areas at the rear. The structural shell is constructed with 35-ft.-tall tilt-up concrete wall panels. Building construction includes foundations, slab-on-grade, steel columns and joists, with metal decking and EPDM roofing. Other building features include storefront entrances, 16 overhead doors, and dock levelers. Interchange wanted this building to have a unique appearance. The building is located adjacent to Interstate 81, which is one of the most traveled thoroughfares to the Northeast. Visible to north and south bound traffic, CPad3's red accents and corner pedestals provides the industrial park with an anchor building for all to see.
This was the fourth Nielsen tilt-up facility for Interchange in this industrial park. Coordinating construction within an active park was critical. Nighttime concrete pours have logistical challenges such as the concrete plant opening specifically for this project, lighting, and safety concerns. Coordinating five different designers to insure all details of the project are communicated and designed also presented a challenge. Nielsen handled all of these challenges with proper planning and communication.
