Scannell is currently leased as a manufacturing and distribution warehouse. This will bring additional direct jobs at the facility itself as well as indirect and ancillary jobs for the required material, shipping and support services needed.
Constructed in Salt Lake City during the spring and summer, requiring adaptation to high winds, arid conditions, and afternoon rains. The project was a design build, with only partial plans to begin construction. Frequent design changes required fast adaptation, material coordination, and field communication. The west boundary of the project was bordered by a residential development requiring heavy coordination with residents for each concrete placement, specialized backup alarms and traffic control.
The project was delayed by five months from the original start date; however, the ownership group only extended the deadline by two months, compressing the schedule significantly. Requiring a crew of 45+ carpenters, averaging 60-hour work weeks, daily concrete pours for both panels and slabs on grade adding another 25-30 finishers.
