EVENT OVERVIEW

Schindler Space Architect offers a cinematic examination of one of modern architecture’s most original voices, tracing Rudolph M. Schindler’s development of “space architecture” and his lasting influence on the relationship between material, landscape, and modern living.

For the tilt-up community, Schindler’s legacy carries particular significance. His 1922 Kings Road House in Los Angeles is a landmark of early modern architecture and an important early application of tilt-up concrete—a project in which an innovative construction system became inseparable from an equally innovative architectural vision.

Following the screening, director Valentina Ganeva will join attendees for a conversation exploring the making of the film, Schindler’s architectural legacy, and the continuing relevance of his ideas to contemporary design practice. Guests are also invited to experience the 2026 Tilt-Up Convention & Expo exhibit hall before the screening and continue the conversation at a reception following the program.

Hosted by Tilt Lab, the philanthropic partner of the Tilt-Up Concrete Association, this special program is presented in conjunction with the 2026 International Tilt-Up Convention & Expo, October 21–23 in Salt Lake City. Guests are invited to arrive early to explore the Convention exhibit hall and stay following the program for a reception with fellow design and construction professionals.
