Gulfstream Service Center East is the new maintenance, repair and overhaul facility located in Savannah, Georgia. The facility was created to accommodate fleet growth, and has been completed since August of 2019 and operational since Sept. 11.
E.E. Reed provided the General Contracting services for the project while Martin Concrete Construction completed all concrete work. The facility features a 173,033-sf concrete slab on grade ranging in thickness from 6” to 11” depending on the area of the building. The building also has a hanger with a 717’-6” opening in the front for the hanger doors with only 3 panel wraps in the front columns. A total of 87 concrete tilt panels were used to create the building. There is 24,986 sf of slab on metal decking, 11 flights of stairs, 24 airplane hold-down pads, site walls, elevator pits, a customer tower and pump house.
Hughes Group Architects is responsible for designing a fueled aircraft service center and hangar with all necessary amenities including customer service areas, customer support offices, hangar areas for aircraft repair, ancillary hangar support such as service operations, ground support equipment, customer storage, building utility areas, etc. as well as site improvements which include the aircraft apron, fuel truck containment areas, and hazmat storage. Other site improvements include way finding, security, site lighting and fencing, customer and employee parking, a new entrance road and landscaping.
