Creating Class-A corporate office headquarters while still maintaining a multi-tenant functionality and capitalizing on the speed and economy associated with Tilt-Up construction was the challenge faced with the Acosta office facility in Jacksonville, Florida.
The 90,000-square-foot building was designed with depth in mind, to include exterior framing with EIFS and panels with large window openings stacked in front of each other.
Panel forming was a challenge due to the computer room's recessed floor, and limited areas for casting beds and an adjacent pond. The large window openings required extensive re-steel in the horizontal and vertical members of the panels.
By maintaining accurate window opening sizes during framing and pouring of the concrete panels, quick and easy installation of the four-sided structural aluminum and glass framing system was allowed - allowing the building to be dried-in quickly.
