Don Greive is a founding principal of Pinnacle Structural Engineers, a sustaining member of TCA. Don initially began working in the construction industry during summers while in high school and college, preparing shop drawings for structural steel and rebar for a steel fabricator. That interest led to his obtaining a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering (Structural Emphasis) from Rice University and a M.S. degree in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering/Structural Mechanics) from the University of California.

Don has over 33 years of experience in structural engineering design and management for a variety of project types. Included in that experience is overall project management of the A/E team on projects in which the structural engineer was the prime consultant. The last 14 years, Don has been President of Pinnacle Structural Engineers.Pinnacle Structural Engineers provides structural engineering services for a variety of project and structure types. From the beginning, Pinnacle has provided services on tilt-wall industrial and office buildings. Several projects by Pinnacle have been recognized with achievement awards from TCA. This includes the Fort Bend County Veterans’ Memorial, which was a public service project of TCA associated with the TCA National Convention in Houston. In addition, Pinnacle has authored articles for Modern Steel Construction and Structural Engineer, including an article on the use of tilt-wall construction for a four story office building with strip windows.

Don has been active in various organizations. This includes previous officer roles for the Houston branches of SEAoT and ACI, including President of the local ACI chapter. Don is a past recipient of the Outstanding Young Alumni Award given by the Rice University Engineering Alumni. Recently, Don and Pinnacle contributed to the efforts led by Luke Pinkerton, Helix Steel, and CTS Cement for a presentation at the TCA 2018 Convention related to the application of steel fibers and rapid setting cement in tilt-wall panels.
