Huntington Corporate Park, a $5.9 million office building, is phase one of what will be a two phase Class A office complex. The architects designed the 95,000 square foot building, located on a lake, to enhance the attractiveness of its surroundings.
The site was tight due to the small footprint of the building and the large square footage of the panels. To meet the schedule, the majority of the panels were cast on beds while others were being cast on the slab. At 63 feet high, these above average height panels were temporarily braced by using a bi-pod system until the structural steel was erected.
Juxtaposing facades give dimension to this four-story structure. Rustication was achieved with the repeated use of ¾ inch reveals throughout the panels. Final architectural touches such as EIFS accents, balcony ornamentations, cornices and semi-circular arches, help give the building an Italian feel.
As an additional feature, 2.5-foot thick panels were designed to give the structure additional depth. Foam was used to reduce the weight of these panels that flanked the entrance, yet still weighed in at more than 134,000 pounds, with the heaviest panel weighing 138,700 lbs.
Meadow-Burke and the Sure Lift/J-6 products were utilized.
