Westlake 3

Summarize the project's program, features and achievements.

Westlake 3 is a Tilt-Up industrial distribution facility located in Jacksonville, Florida. The development is rail-served with superior access to the southeastern market being close to I-295, I-10, I-95, and I-75. The 486,150 SF three dock facility boasts two main entry corners. The main entries showcase both storefront and curtain wall along with Alucobond canopies. The entry panels contain accent reveals and voids.

What obstacles were overcome related to the schedule, budget, program, specification, site, etc. on this project?

There was a JEA power easement that ran through the site and we had to coordinate with them and the AHJ on what could be built under it, how close to it, grounding requirements, and permeant\ structures.

Communicate any engineering complexities or unique features of the panel design for this project.

The building entries include complex panels with reveals, voids, spandrels, and L-panels.

What is the potential for this project's impact on the community and/or environment?

The project provided more jobs for the city of Jacksonville to serve the influx of new residents moving into the area. The complex design details bring an elevated aesthetic to the local industrial market.
