Performance Cold Storage

This project is unique because it is a sandwich panel, tilt-up freezer warehouse. There are 4 freezer areas that each contain 23,000 SF. They are rated for temperature as low at -25 degrees. In addition to these freezer areas, we also have a refrigerated speed bay, maintenance areas as well as a two-story office. The tilt walls that separate the freezers from the speed bay were required to be structural on both sides. There is an under-slab heating system to ensure that frost heave does not occur. Additionally, the vapor barrier for the entire building envelope had to be maintained in order to avoid any frost or moisture buildup. This made for some interesting connection detail from the floors to the walls, and from the walls to the roof structure. This building has performed flawlessly and has been extremely valuable to the cool storage industry.
