Blackbaud was a unique project for this company in terms of its size and architectural features. This four story office building had significant amounts of curtain wall attached to the floor edge that extended past the wall face. This curtain wall was suspended and did not touch the ground, thus becoming the focus point of the building. This feature paired with the four 60 foot columns outside the entry-way and the recessed slab on metal deck for access flooring resulted in a beautifully large office building that could not have been achieved without the innovative methods of tilt-up construction.
Through the successful completion of this project, Blackbaud office building has created over 300+ jobs for the community of Charleston, SC. Blackbaud has begun using training space in this building to "incubate" emerging non-profits and teach local elementary schools coding and design. The new headquarters promotes disruptive innovation and inspires their employees to reach their full potential.
