Project summary provided by submitting company.
The project is a two-story, 42,166 square foot addition and new entrance canopy to the existing Medical Office Building 'B', located on the Alton Memorial Hospital campus in Alton, Illinois. The addition will replace an existing parking lot.
The new addition will complement and maintain the existing design vocabulary of the buildings on the Alton campus. Building materials include tilt-up concrete panels with commentary brick insets, a metal-clad main entry canopy, as well as windows and frames.
The first floor build-out includes suites for OBGYN, Pediatrics and blood draw. The second floor will be occupied by the Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation.
The newly constructed tower feature provides an architectural landmark that mimics Alton Memorial Hospital. The design format follows the existing window size and pattern.
Renovated sidewalks connect to the existing hospital and allow seamless pedestrian flow between buildings while enjoying views of the lake.
Utilizing tilt-up provided a reliable, efficient use of workforce and offered the owner an expedited construction schedule. This project was able to be delivered on time and on budget by using the tilt-up delivery method. Existing design elements from previous construction were able to be easily replicated through the use of tilt-up.
