Aldi Distribution - Florida
This was a very challenging project for several reasons. First, an above ground structural formwork system had to be devised to withstand the pressure from the backfill, casting bed and radius panel weights combined. After erecting this massive formwork structure, around 30 loads of fill material were imported and actually shaped to the exact radius of the casting bed. Next, the casting bed had to be placed and finished to the exact radius of the curved panel. All blocking and steps in the panel's outside face had to be formed on the casting bed, taking in consideration the curvature and the final angles. Finally, the reinforcing was installed and the panel placed and finished while maintaining the true radius of the panel's inside face.
