It was the intent of this design team to provide the Blender Bottle Company with a fun, healthy, energy-efficient working environment and to also provide them with a facility that will reflect their corporate image. The use of tilt-up concrete was a major factor in accomplishing these goals and providing an energy-efficient, sustainable building. This facility is 100,000 sq.ft. with approximately 20,000 sq.ft. of office space and 80,000 sq.ft. of warehouse.
This facility is constructed of reinforced concrete footings, foundations, slabs-on-grade, suspended composite concrete floors and reinforced tilt-up concrete walls. Some of the panels are over 40 ft. tall. The exterior tilt-up concrete walls of the office have large openings, creating a series of wall piers and the feeling of a colonnade. These members also resist lateral loads due to seismic forces.
Large windows span from floor to ceiling, taking advantage of the spectacular mountain views and abundance of natural light. The warehouse areas also have an abundance of natural light. The interior of the warehouse is painted white, thus eliminating the need for electric lights except for at night or overcast days. The building has an open floor plan with nearly all spaces receiving both views and light. The building culminates as a reflection of the desired Blender Bottle corporate image: fun, state-of-the-art, and sustainable.

The Tilt-Up Achievement Awards were established to honor projects that use site-cast tilt-up concrete to introduce new building types, advance industry technology and provide unique solutions to building programs. Winning entries illustrate the variety, beauty, and flexibility of tilt-up construction.
