Over the last five years, Mitsubishi Electric Cooling and Heating Division experienced a double-digit growth, and its management knew it was time to expand. Having used tilt-up on previous projects, Mitsubishi knew the method was both cost-effective and would maintain the company's commitment to environmental stewardship.
The new 550,000-square-foot facility is nearly twice the size of the company's former space and now includes the division's headquarters, an engineering center, a professional training center and warehouse space. The mechanical/equipment screen wall used tilt panels measuring 14 inches thick.
This new building will allow Mitsubishi to continue to grow and expand and create 100 new jobs over the next three years. Because of specified panel height and building footprint constraints, 50,000 square feet of casting bed were utilized.
Brick face, using thin brick, creates an appealing main entry. The building includes the manufacturer's own energy-efficient cooling and heating.
