Another high-tech winner is the Super Micro Computer, Inc. facility in San Jose, California, a winner in the Manufacturing/Industrial category. Since the 84,000-square-foot space is situated along major highway 880 in Silicon Valley, the owner sought a modern, hi-tech, dominant presence.
Constructed by Balch Enterprises, Inc., steel trellis were welded to steel embeds cast in the Tilt-Up panels. Steps in the panel thickness above windows and small circular reveals cast in the panels provide a unique appeal not typical of a manufacturing/industrial facility.
Eight-foot-high radius panels are found at the front corners and decorative six-foot radius panels are used to enhance the building sides.
