The scope of work for this project consisted of foundations, slab on grade, tilt-up panels (including exterior panels, auxiliary panels for ramps, dumper enclosure, and pump room), truck court pavement, sidewalks, and a truck dolly pad. Crane access at the north end of the building was limited due to the proximity of the road and overhead power lines. The power lines had to be removed, and the crane was required to straddle the foundation along approximately two-thirds of the building's length (east to west) in order to erect the panels. Two casting slabs were constructed to accommodate panels that were displaced from the building slab due to crane access constraints.
Originally, the entry panels of the building were designed with a trapezoid formliner texture. However, sourcing the specific formliner would have caused production delays. We were able to value-engineer and replace the formliner with vertical reveals. Resulting in cost savings for the client and reduced material lead times. Additionally, the panels were patched to accommodate a flat paint finish.
The entry panels featured a trapezoid formliner texture that we were able to value engineer and replace with vertical reveals. Which saved the client money and material lead time. The panels were also patched for flat paint.
