HealthPark at Davis Drive is a 69,000-square-foot, two-story Tilt-Up medical office building developed to support the expansion of a local hospital. Designed with both function and aesthetics in mind, the structure meets the specialized needs of a healthcare environment while maintaining a contemporary, high-end appearance.
The building features a modern exterior clad primarily in thin brick, with architectural depth achieved through recessed panel tops and sloped window head details. A key design element includes six spandrel panels—part of the 45 total panels used—that enable expansive curtain wall sections, enhancing both natural light and visual appeal. Tilt-Up construction played a crucial role in meeting the project’s tight schedule while delivering the desired architectural quality.
As a return client familiar with the benefits of Tilt-Up construction, the owner selected this method knowing it would deliver an aesthetically pleasing building while staying within budget. Early coordination led to a repetitive panel design, which significantly accelerated fabrication and construction timelines.
To meet the project's tight schedule, site development was phased, and full crane access around the building perimeter was not available. By carefully managing panel sizes, the team successfully erected the building from just three sides, maintaining efficiency despite limited site access.
Certain spandrel panels in the project were designed to connect exclusively to the structural steel while supporting loads from multiple roof elevations. Due to the varied loading conditions on different sides and heights of the panels, the engineer developed precise, detailed connections to the steel framework to ensure structural integrity and prevent panel rollover.
