Summarize the project's program, features and achievements?

The Cove Logistics Center is a newly constructed state of the art industrial building that was managed by Wespac Construction. The building is 99,498 SF, and construction was completed in October 2024. The building features 51 tilt panels that are 9 ½” and 12” thick, as well as 62,650 SF of paving.

What obstacles were overcome related to the schedule, budget, program, specification, site, etc. on this project?

For the 12” thick panels featuring a “wrap” reveal in the design, we encountered a constraint that prevented us from installing the reveal on the top face of the panels prior to pouring. To maintain the intended aesthetic, our team performed a post-pour modification—cutting into and patching the panels after lifting—to achieve the appearance of a continuous wrap reveal.

Please communicate any engineering complexities or unique features of the panel design for this project?

The engineering complexities primarily arose when we had to lift the 12” panels on this project. Because panels were placed perpendicular to the rest of the 9 ½” building panels, our team had to take additional precautions to ensure the panels were not only lifted safely but also positioned accurately in order to be able to support the adjacent spandrel panels.
