The Georgia Steamship Terminal Redevelopment project, located at the Georgia Steamship Terminal in Port Wentworth, Georgia, was a design-build project. It consisted of the design and construction of a 289K sf T-configured transload warehouse, a 2-story administration building, truck processing gates and guard houses, a fire pump house, 3 paved container storage yards, electric rubber-tired gantry (eRTG) cranes (3 at each stack area for a total of 9), crane runways, underground electrical systems, trailer parking, car parking, roadways, railroad and canal crossing structures, and security fencing. Project also required area lighting, signage and striping, communication network, stormwater drainage, all supporting utility and infrastructure works, site grading, miscellaneous foundations, permitting for connections and crossings, demolition of building and infrastructures, and coordination of eRTG delivery and erection area. Overall, 85,176 total CY of concrete was used for the building, RTG area, access road, and truck court. Annual capacity of the container yard is 400,000 TEUs.
