This project is the first stacked industrial building complex in Richmond, BC, Canada consisting of two buildings with approximately 200,000 ft. of floor space. Each unit boasts 23' clear ceilings, individual loading doors and access to numerous full-sized freight elevators. The concrete tilt-up and structural steel building features 240 parking stalls, an outdoor walkway connecting the units and large windows that provide natural light.
Responding to, and addressing, several architectural changes during the design phase while keeping the project on schedule.
Panels with varying heights and sloped tops along the perimeter of the buildings. Structural steel braced frames were used together with the tilt-up panels to provide the lateral force resisting system. Some panels also required “temporary" concrete legs to be cast-in-the panels to facilitate panel lifting. Those legs were cut when the panels were erected and braced.
The project is strategically located near all major hubs and commercial facilities in Metro Vancouver. It gives quick access to Highways 99 and 91, Vancouver International Airport, the City of Richmond's core, Downtown Vancouver, and the Port of Vancouver. The site also has great public exposure with access to major commuter and transportation routes.
