This speculative laboratory building sits at the heart of a growing national hub for bioscience and biotechnology research and development. The scale alone makes the Fitzsimons Innovation Campus one of the most significant developments of its kind in Colorado, but just as important as the size of the campus, is the plan, which applies the best concepts from successful medical research parks across the country to its own unique opportunity. The campus is designed to offer an unrivaled range of opportunity to life science research and development companies of all sorts; from small start-ups to established industry leaders. It’s a place where the best and brightest are coming together to take ideas from benchtop to bedside; a place that will continue to honor the name “Fitzsimons” with bioscience, health and research successes in years to come.
Offering 118,000 square feet, this three-story project provides innovative space for wet and dry labs, office suites, warehousing and distribution. The Bioscience 3 building offers life science and bioscience clients flexible space for mixed-use purposes. There is a 100-seat flexible auditorium and shared conference space, and a ground-level designed to accommodate distribution and/or warehouse functions. The space also includes the capacity for liquid nitrogen, compressed air vacuum and standby electrical generators, as needed.
The tilt panels were an as-cast finish with all exterior concrete to be partially or fully exposed. They were cast on 100% waste slabs and saw cuts were hidden behind formwork and reveals to eliminate any lines showing through on final surface.
