Dr. Alexander possessed many unique qualities that easily distinguished itself from other medical office buildings in the area. Due to the main floor parking garage and a very small site, the casting bed layout was extremely restricted. Additionally, overhead power lines led to a difficult panel erection process and drastically increased the critical nature of safety for the field employees. No two panels were the same, resulting in an odd, yet appealing building shape that utilized spandrel panels and short, proud panels to give definition to the walls of the main building.
The ultimate mission of Dr. Alexander was to provide patients and clinicians with a non-surgical alternative in treatment of spine and musculo-skeletal pain. The restrictive site conditions led to a rise in the imperative nature of safety and innovative thinking to ensure that the needs of the owners were fully and completely met, while in turn keeping Citadel's employees safe.
