Jerry Bettencourt is an experienced concrete specialist with over 22 years of experience in the concrete industry. Jerry has been involved in many roles during his concrete career, starting as a Cement Finishing Apprentice and Concrete Form Setter, gaining experience in actually placing and finishing concrete and understanding the challenges faced on site. Jerry transitioned into a Sales/Consulting role with one of Ontario’s larger building materials suppliers and then onto Ontario Technical Representative for a Canadian specialty admixture manufacturer. Jerry’s current role with Lafarge Canada sees him sharing his knowledge and experience with specialty concrete mixes by presenting to and consulting with Engineers, Architects, Developers, Government Agencies, and Contractors on their projects to provide proper specifications and the right mixes for a successful outcome. Specialty mixes such as Colour, Fiber Reinforcement, Self-Consolidating Concrete, High Early Strength Concrete, Cold Weather Concrete, and most recently ECOPact Low C02 Concrete for sustainable construction. In the two years since the introduction of ECOPact Low C02 Concrete to the market, Jerry has consulted on numerous successful sustainable projects, including the 2022 Ontario Concrete Award Winner for Sustainable Concrete Construction at the 360 West Condos, and currently under construction Ontario’s first certified Net-Zero energy community at West Five.
