Mitch Bloomquist graduated with honors, in 2004, from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa where he studied art and music. In 2007, he received his Master of Architecture from the Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Design at Washington University in Saint Louis. While at Washington University, Mitch was recognized as a Widmann nominee as one of the top graduate students. Many of his works were selected for inclusion in the University’s accreditation exhibition as well as publication in the University’s journal in each of his four years in the program. Following graduation, Mitch returned to Iowa with the goal of applying what he had learned at one of the top graduate architectural schools in the nation to a community that he grew up in and cared for. Before joining the Tilt-Up Concrete Association as project manager in 2010, Mitch was involved in many major projects in the area as an associate with Novak Design Group, an architectural firm in Cedar Rapids. Mitch is a 2010 Citizen Architect of the American Institute of Architects, a member of the Linn County Historic Preservation Commission, Chair Elect for ImpactCR, and Chair of the Design Committee of the Mount Vernon – Lisbon Community Development Group.
