T&T Construction Management Group, Inc., a woman-owned premier concrete specialty contractor, is pleased to announce the promotion of Senior Project Manager Derek Preston to Director of Northeast Region. Preston works closely with Michael Skorochod, the company’s Director of the Southeast Region, in this new role.
Preston has spent his entire professional career with T&T Construction Management Inc., serving first as a Project Engineer, through his latest position as Senior Project Manager before rising to become Director of Northeast Region. Since joining T&T Construction Management Inc. in 2017, Preston also started the company’s newest region, the Mideast, with an office in Raleigh, North Carolina. He relocated from Philadelphia to Raleigh to start this office, after which he was promoted and returned to Philadelphia with an expanded role overseeing both the Mideast and Northeast.
“Opening the Raleigh office and managing the company’s largest project at the time was an exciting opportunity for me,” Preston said. “It was the culmination of my project management skills while working side by side on the company’s operational efforts. The commitment and trust from the T&T leadership in me to take on this challenge and opportunity is at the heart of our T&T values and what I now bring into my leadership every day.”
Upon the successful completion of the Raleigh project, Preston moved back to the Philadelphia area to commence overseeing the Northeast and Mideast as Senior Project Manager, a new position at the time, for T&T Construction Management Group Inc. As Director of Operations for the Northeast Region, Preston oversees multimillion-dollar projects, including tilt-up and specialty slab construction. His expertise helped the firm win its first TCA Tilt Up Achievement award, in the Production and Manufacturing category for the project in Raleigh.
“Our team overcame many challenges, including schedule, constructability, complex lifting sequences, panel design coordination, and site logistics on an integrated 11-building pharmaceutical production project. We’re thankful to be recognized by this award which is a clear distinction in the industry,” Preston said of the award.
Rebecca Thomas, T&T Construction Management Inc.’s Chief Executive Officer, praised Preston’s embodiment of the values of charity, empathy, and tolerance.
“Derek has consistently demonstrated tremendous leadership during his years with T&T,” Thomas said. “He is very deserving of this promotion, and we are excited to continue our growth in the Northeast. His ability to provide our clients with outstanding results continues to fuel our success.”
