Tilt-Up Concrete Association Offers Tilt-Up Focused College Course Material
The Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) – an international nonprofit organization that serves to expand and improve the use of tilt-up as the preferred building system – announces the availability of tilt-up focused college course material – Tilt-Up Academy. The association is offering free educational tools to engineering faculty desiring to incorporate up to six weeks of 2012/2015 IBC compliant, TCA developed, lecture and course material into undergraduate and graduate level reinforced concrete design classes. All course material is based on “Engineering Tilt-Up” (2013) authored by Timothy W. Mays, Ph.D., P.E., and Joseph J. Steinbicker, P.E., S.E.
“Tilt-Up Academy material has been designed to fit nicely into existing undergraduate and graduate courses,” said Mays. “I am certain that faculty will be able to effectively include anywhere from one to six weeks of material as it best fits their needs.”
Faculty requesting material will obtain immediate access to lecture material, weekly homework problems with a fully documented solutions manual, free software for single story and multi-story tilt-up wall design (academic use only – created to allow the faculty member to quickly make up exam problems and additional homework problems), free faculty copies of “Engineering Tilt-Up” (2013) and student pricing of “Engineering Tilt-Up” when required for student use (up to 75% off the retail price).
Interested faculty should contact Mitch Bloomquist at (319) 895-6911 or mbloomqist@tilt-up.org.
