Tilt-Up Market Index Climbs to 66 in Q2 2026

TUX rises seven points to its highest reading since measurement began, indicating stronger current business conditions across the tilt-up industry

The Tilt-Up Market Index (TUX) rose to 66 in the second quarter of 2026, up seven points from 59 in Q1 and marking the highest reading since measurement began in Q2 2025.

TUX is a quarterly measure of current business conditions in tilt-up concrete construction. Based on activity reported by firms across the design, construction, and supply community, the index is scored from 0 to 100, with 50 representing neutral conditions. Readings above 50 indicate positive current conditions, while readings below 50 indicate weaker conditions.

At 66, the Q2 index stands 16 points above neutral and represents a notable strengthening from the previous quarter. Importantly, TUX measures current reported conditions rather than expectations for future activity. The index is intended to provide a recurring reference point for what firms participating in the tilt-up market are experiencing now.

Five Quarters of TUX

With only five quarters of data, the series is still too young to support conclusions about long-term trends, cycles, or seasonal patterns. Its value will grow as additional quarters establish a longer record of reported market conditions. Even at this stage, however, the index provides a consistent measure for comparing current activity with previous quarters and with the neutral benchmark.

A Public Measure of the Tilt-Up Market

Beginning with the Q2 2026 release, the current TUX score, quarterly change, neutral benchmark, and historical index series are available through a permanent public index at tilt-up.org/tux.

Making the core index publicly accessible establishes TUX as a reference point not only for TCA members, but also for architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers, owners, journalists, and others following the tilt-up construction market.

The public index is intentionally concise. It answers a fundamental question each quarter: What are firms participating in the tilt-up market reporting about current business conditions?

Deeper analysis remains part of TCA’s quarterly market intelligence for members. TCA members have access to the full quarterly TUX report, including the Outlook Summary, overall TUX analysis, Project Mix Snapshot, Regional Activity Snapshot, Industry Sentiment, Key Findings, and Annual Panel Output Estimate. TCA Sustaining Members receive additional TUX+ intelligence, including regional and discipline-level analysis, Market Voices, and exclusive commentary.

As the series develops, each quarterly reading will add context to those that came before it, creating a growing record of conditions within the tilt-up construction market.

The current index and complete public TUX history are available at tilt-up.org/tux.
