The Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) is thrilled to announce an exciting collaboration with veteran Nashville songwriter Thom Shepherd for the 2025 Tilt-Up Convention and Expo, which will take place October 1–3, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee. Known for his extraordinary talent and deep roots in the music industry, Shepherd will serve as a consultant for the event’s dynamic live music program.
Shepherd first collaborated with the TCA in 2013 when he performed and emceed the awards gala at the Tilt-Up Convention and Expo in Sugar Land, Texas. His incredible performance left a lasting impression, leading to an invitation to perform again in Dallas in 2017. Over the years, the TCA has followed Shepherd’s remarkable career, and his recent move back to Nashville made this new partnership a perfect fit for the 2025 Convention in Music City.
As a veteran of Nashville’s Music Row, Shepherd brings unparalleled expertise to the TCA’s robust music program. He is the writer of five #1 singles, including “Redneck Yacht Club,” “Riding with Private Malone,” and “My Texas.” With over 10 radio singles, two Grammy-nominated songs, and more than 100 recordings by iconic artists like Blake Shelton, George Jones, Pat Green, Easton Corbin, and Montgomery Gentry, Shepherd’s contributions to country music are undeniable.
“Thom’s ability to connect with audiences and his rich musical legacy make him the perfect partner to elevate the experience for our attendees in Nashville,” said Mitch Bloomquist, executive director of the TCA. “We’re excited to bring his creative vision and passion for music to our event.”
Shepherd’s role at the 2025 Tilt-Up Convention and Expo will extend beyond his own performance, and includes the following:
- Curating musical acts to perform during breaks in education sessions, receptions, meals, and exhibit times.
- Consulting on the setup of the main stage in the exhibit hall, ensuring an unforgettable live music experience.
- Integrating innovative team-building exercises led by singer-songwriters and host a keynote featuring renowned songwriters in the round.
Shepherd’s achievements go far beyond his music. As a two-time cancer survivor, military-tour veteran, father of two, and avid snow skier, Shepherd is a true inspiration. His song “Always Saturday Night” was featured in the documentary Parrot Heads alongside Jimmy Buffett, and his recent song “New York to Montana” was adapted into a novel. Additionally, he produces the two-time Trop Rock Music Association (TRMA) event of the year, the Lone Star Luau, set to take place March 27–30, 2025, at Margaritaville Lake Resort in Conroe, Texas.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in Virginia, Shepherd moved to Nashville in 1993 after graduating from George Mason University. After living in Texas for a decade, and with a home in Sandpoint, Idaho, Shepherd returned to Nashville in 2024 where he continues to create music and develop video content for his latest project.
The TCA is honored to partner with such a talented and versatile artist. With Thom Shepherd’s involvement, the 2025 Tilt-Up Convention and Expo promises to deliver an unforgettable blend of innovation, education, and entertainment in the heart of Music City.
