The Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) proudly announces a new volunteer initiative in strategic partnership with Beat the Streets National (BTSN). This collaboration is a testament to TCA’s dedication to community service and workforce development, creating a unique opportunity for TCA members to positively impact their communities through the sport of wrestling.
About Beat the Streets National
BTSN is committed to transforming the lives of boys and girls through wrestling. The organization enables local leaders to deliver sustainable and high-quality youth development programs. BTSN plays a key role in accrediting new BTS chapters, encouraging cross-chapter collaboration, and leveraging the BTS network’s combined strength to enhance the impact of local chapters through national partnerships and funding.
TCA’s Strategic Partnership with BTSN
This partnership resonates with TCA’s core values of community engagement. Mitch Bloomquist, TCA’s executive director, is serving on the BTSN committee focused on workforce development. Additionally, TCA’s Executive Committee member Bob Murray of Alston Construction, who also serves on the board of directors for BTSN, is actively involved in this initiative. This collaboration aims to address workforce development, alongside community service and business development goals.
Volunteer Opportunity Details
- Role: Volunteer coaches and mentors for local BTS chapters
- Commitment: 1–2 hours per week as an assistant coach, providing guidance and mentorship at practice sessions
- Requirements: Certification by USA Wrestling, with all costs covered by BTSN; the certification process includes a background check and safe sport training
- Additional Role: Sharing career experiences and offering advice to young wrestlers, enhancing their growth and understanding of career opportunities
- Informational Meeting: A meeting will be held to further discuss this volunteering opportunity and outline the next steps for interested participants

BTSN Chapters
The BTSN network includes chapters in New York City; Philadelphia; Los Angeles; Chicago; Detroit; New England; Lancaster; Cleveland; the Bay Area; Washington, DC; and Baltimore, with additional chapters in formation.
