The 3rd Annual TCA Classic

The Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) has once again partnered with American Contractors Supply and ARCO Design/Build to host the third annual TCA Classic golf tournament. On April 21, 2023, nearly 150 tilt-up professionals gathered at the BridgeMill Athletic Club in Canton, GA, for a day of golf, networking, comradery, and prizes. The event raised funds for Tilt-Up Industry Leaders of Tomorrow (TILT) and the Fisher House Foundation.
“This event allows us to take a break from the hustle and bustle of our industry, and enjoy time with colleagues and other industry professionals in a relaxed environment,” said Marissa McCarthy of Martin Concrete. “It’s a great opportunity for our teams to network and build relationships that will last beyond the event. We’ve been honored to be part of this golf tournament for the past three years and look forward to many more!”
The format for the tournament was a standard four-person scramble and featured a $35,000 hole-in-one contest plus bonus hole-in-one prizes sponsored by Makita USA; a longest-drive contest sponsored by FGL Freight; a longest-putt contest sponsored by Total Integrated Panel Systems (TIPS); and a closest-to-the-pin contest sponsored by ARCO Design/Build. Additionally, numerous vendors provided raffle prizes, and tournament winners walked away with some extra cash in their pockets too.
“We always look forward to the annual TCA Classic golf tournament as it provides new ways to build on our relationships with industry partners, and we think that’s a pretty important part of our business,” said Robert Turner of Turner Brothers. “Additionally, the fundraising efforts for organizations like Wounded Warrior and Fisher House Foundation make it all that more important to make the trip!”
A luncheon took place on the clubhouse lawn directly following the tournament, where winners were announced and the TCA presented a donation check to the Fisher House Foundation. ARCO Design/Build graciously matched the money raised, doubling the TCA’s donation!
“Thank you for helping those who serve—our military, veterans, and their families,” said Stephany Bonney, director of community fundraising for Fisher House Foundation. “With TCA’s support we will be able to keep military and veteran families together while their loved ones receive medical care,” said Bonney. “Fundraisers and donations like this help ease the burdens that can result from a long-term stay in a hospital so that families can focus on being there for their loved ones. The many military and veteran families who benefit from your generosity join [us] in expressing our collective appreciation for your support.”
As the TCA continues the mission of expanding and improving the use of tilt-up as the preferred building system, these events advance opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
“This is our third year attending the annual TCA Classic and we always walk away with new business contacts, lots of laughs, and the occasional hole-in-one,” said Jordan Keith, vice president of HK Composites. “The golf course is challenging enough for advanced golfers, but is still playable for a couple of our employees and guests we’ve invited,” said Keith. “If you haven’t attended this event yet, I strongly recommend getting involved!”
On behalf of the TCA, event hosts, and sponsors, we offer our congratulations to this year’s winners! If you are interested in hosting a TCA Classic in your area, please contact Mitch Bloomquist at mbloomquist@tilt-up.org or call (319) 895-6911 for more information.
