Scott Collins

Leviat is proud to announce that Scott Collins was promoted to the position of chief engineer for North America. In this new capacity, Collins will be responsible for industry advocacy, partner relations, and continued development of codes and standards.

Collins has served in a variety of engineering management roles with Leviat since joining the company in 1996. In that time, he has earned a reputation as one of the leading voices in the tilt-up community, contributing in numerous ways to the growth of tilt-up construction over the past two decades.

Collins was a coauthor for the 2012 Tilt-Up Concrete Association’s (TCA) bracing guidelines and he was the principal reviewer for the 2018 version. He also served on the group’s board of directors from 2013 to 2018. In addition, Collins oversaw the lift and brace design calculations for a number of notable projects, including the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Kansas City, MS; the Armed Forces War Memorial in Sugar Land, TX; and the current world’s tallest tilt-up panel (111’-9”) for Florida International University’s Bayview Student Living building in Miami, FL.

In 2019, Collins was awarded the TCA’s David E. Kelly Distinguished Engineer Award in recognition of his long-standing commitment to engineering excellence, advancement, and achievement in the tilt-up industry.

Brad Nesset, regional president, Leviat North America, added, “I’m delighted to appoint Scott as chief engineer; we are all extremely proud of the impact he has made on the tilt-up industry throughout his career. In this new role, he will have the resources to expand that positive influence and provide additional support to our customers, mentoring for our engineering staff, and leadership for the tilt-up industry as a whole.”
