The 2nd Annual TCA Classic

The Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) has once again partnered with American Contractors Supply and ARCON Design/Build to host the 2nd Annual TCA Classic. On April 16, nearly 150 tilt-up professionals gathered at the BridgeMill Athletic Club in Canton, GA for a day of golf, networking, comradery, and prizes. The event raised funds for Tilt-Up Industry Leaders of Tomorrow (TILT), and The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP).

“The TCA Classic highlights the community and connectedness that is the strength of our association,” said Rick Galloway, executive vice president of Martin Concrete. “I look forward to seeing colleagues and friends any time we can get together. I am always impressed by how members of our association travel,” said Galloway. “The social at Reformation Brewery Thursday night was a blast, and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect for golf on Friday. The whole Martin Concrete group enjoyed the event and we look forward to being involved next year!”

The format for the tournament was a standard 4-person scramble and featured a $35,000 Hole-in-One contest, plus bonus hole-in-one prizes sponsored by MAX USA, a longest drive contest sponsored by PKS Concrete Pumping, and a longest putt contest sponsored by Sunbelt Rentals. Additionally, numerous vendors provided raffle prizes and tournament winners walked away with some extra cash in their pockets, too.

“The relationships that are forged at these types of events are tremendous,” said Robbie Worrell, regional sales manager at MAX USA. “We at MAX value each and every contractor we engage with on the jobsite and in the trade show arena,” said Worrell. “Where else do you get a captive audience that you have an opportunity to interact with every single person at the event? The opportunity for each person to use our rebar tying tools gave them a chance to recognize the value, time and cost savings on the job! The MAX team is available to conduct these jobsite calls every day in every city supporting our TCA industry partners.”

A luncheon took place on the clubhouse lawn directly following the tournament where winners were announced, and the TCA presented a donation check to a representative from The Wounded Warrior Project.

“On behalf of Wounded Warrior Project, I would like to thank the incredible folks at TCA for their generous financial donation,” said Dan Miller, a representative for Wounded Warrior Project. “The funds donated will go directly to the life changing and life saving programs Wounded Warrior Project offers our Warriors and their family members. The TCA is helping to not only better lives, but save them!”

As the TCA continues the mission of expanding and improving the use of tilt-up as the preferred building system, these events advance opportunities for collaboration and innovation.

“There’s nothing like attending a TCA event,” said Len Overbeek, co-founder of Tilt-Wall Ontario. “The comradeship is unparalleled, and it was great to reconnect with old acquaintances as well as meeting new members of the TCA.”
