Sold out TCA golf event in Atlanta area raises money for Tilt-Up Industry Leaders of Tomorrow and the Wounded Warrior Project
For anyone who has attended a Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) event, it’s no secret that tilt-up professionals work hard, and play even harder. On April 16, 2021, nearly 150 tilt-up professionals gathered at the BridgeMill Athletic Club in Canton, GA, for the inaugural TCA Classic. Hosted by American Contractors Supply and ARCO Design/Build, the event raised funds for Tilt-Up Industry Leaders of Tomorrow (TILT) and the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP).
“We were thankful to work with our hosts to put this event together,” said Mitch Bloomquist, executive director of the TCA. “The amount of support we received was a true testament to the people of this industry, and just another example of the heart and passion that’s put into everything they do,” said Bloomquist.
The format for the tournament was a standard four-person scramble and featured a $35,000 hole-in-one contest plus bonus hole-in-one prizes sponsored by Makita, a longest-drive contest sponsored by MAX USA, and a longest-putt contest sponsored by American Contractors Supply. Additionally, numerous vendors provided raffle prizes and tournament winners walked away with some extra cash in their pockets, too. Special congratulations is sent to Matt Saguibo from HK Composites for getting a hole in one on a bonus-hole contest.
“It was nice to be back to in-person networking with other industry professionals,” said Dario Lamberti, general manager at ISI Building Products. “The venue was awesome, and we had a great time! Credit to all of those involved who made this a well-organized and fun event.”
A luncheon took place on the clubhouse lawn directly following the tournament where winners were announced, and the TCA presented a $10,000 donation to Dan Miller, a representative from the Wounded Warrior Project.
“On behalf of the warriors and family members Wounded Warrior Project serves, we want to thank the Tilt-Up Concrete Association for their support from their recent golf tournament,” said Brea Kratzert Todd, WWP’s vice president of resource development. “Warriors and their families never pay a penny for any Wounded Warrior Project program or service, and that’s only made possible because of the support of those who join in our mission to honor and empower injured veterans.”
