To Each Other, We’ve Always Been Essential

Español | Translation Sponsored by TCA

If this pandemic has anything good to offer this world, it may be a new appreciation for just how connected we all are.

Within the Tilt-Up Concrete Association, I think we have understood this to be true for some time. It is why the organization was founded as a multidisciplinary coalition. We have understood from the beginning that as architects, engineers, contractors and suppliers that we must work together to optimize efficiencies, appreciate each other’s perspectives, take seriously each other’s needs, and achieve ultimate success. To each other, we’ve always been essential.

This is a time of incredible uncertainty. We all feel somewhat out of control. At the same time, we know (even if its ramifications are long-lasting) the situation is temporary. Through it all, the TCA will be there to keep you informed, represented and connected. The following represents some of the initiatives formed in response to the current situation and its impact on our industry.

  • Provide a representative voice of direct advocacy and coordination for grassroot efforts reaching elected officials and policy makers.
  • Provide members with relevant and timely information through a series of live webinars.
  • Provide important safety guidance for those having to temporarily shut down job sites.
  • Fast-track publication of new tools that encourage and simplify digital togetherness.
  • Publish positive stories of those overcoming challenges as an inspiration and example.

We’re also highlighting the suite of opportunities available to members that can easily be taken advantage of from mobile work environments. These initiatives provide long-term value to member companies while perhaps filling an immediate void for some as their everyday work is being disrupted.

  • Connect members with online continuing education opportunities for their employees.
  • Offer assistance related to the application for tilt-up company certification.
  • Connect members with live and recorded options for ACI/TCA Tilt-Up Supervisor and Technician Certification Program preparatory seminars.
  • Deliver digital copies of Tilt-Up Today to all member contacts.
  • Open the TCA’s tilt-up awards programs call for entries.
  • Extend the deadline for the 2020 Tilt-Up Convention call for presentations to May 1st.

On behalf of the Tilt-Up Concrete Association staff and leadership, I certainly and wholeheartedly wish you, your family, and your team health, safety, and security. I also sincerely hope that you will continue to support each other. There is a rich tradition in the TCA of members supporting members. I encourage you, now more than ever, to support those companies supporting your industry. After all, we are essential to each other’s success.
