Tilt-Up Concrete Association Elects New Board, Shane Miller Named President

The Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) – the global authority for the tilt-up concrete construction industry – has announced Shane Miller, president of Divcon, Inc., as president of the TCA Board of Directors, and the slate of officers for 2015.

Miller joined the TCA Board of Directors in 2010 and has been instrumental in the creation and implementation of the TCA Company Certification program. He is an ACI certified Tilt-Up Supervisor and is also a graduate of both the NCCER Project Management Academy and NCCER Supervisor Academy at Clemson University. In addition to his role on the TCA Board of Directors, Shane has also served on the board of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inland Pacific Chapter.

“I’m very proud to serve this great organization as President in 2015,” said Miller. “We are looking forward to another year of strong growth, new programs and resources and continued impact on the success of this industry.”

Other officers serving the Board for 2015 are:

  • Past President: Kimberly Corwin, A.H. Harris & Sons (Newington, Conn.)
  • Vice President: Jeffrey Brown, Powers Brown Architecture (Houston, Texas)
  • Treasurer: Andrew S. McPherson, Seretta Construction (Apopka, Fla.)
  • Secretary: James Williams, ae urbia and J.M. Williams and Associates, Inc. (Salt Lake City, Utah)

Those re-elected are:

  • Frank Adames, Contratistas Civiles y Mecanicos (CCM) (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic)
  • Mark Johnson, Johnson Structural Group (Boca Raton, Fla.)
  • Mike Denson, Innovative Brick Systems, LLC. (Broomfield, Colo.)

Those continuing service on the Board are:

  • Barclay Gebel, Concrete Strategies (St. Louis, Mo.)
  • Scott Collins, Meadow Burke (Sacramento, Calif.)
  • Matthew Bell, LJB Inc. (Dayton, Ohio)
  • Mark Reed, E.E. Reed Construction (Houston, Texas)
  • Luke Eliot, BD Stevens Limited (Dartmouth, NS)
  • Tim Manherz, TAS Commercial Concrete (Houston, Texas)

The Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) is the international nonprofit trade association for the global tilt-up concrete construction industry and was founded in 1986 by a dedicated group of contractors, professionals, and manufacturers with the interest of improving the quality and acceptance of tilt-up construction, a building system whereby large concrete elements (walls) are cast on the building slab or elsewhere on site and then lifted (tilted) into position.
