Onward and Upward

With summer in full swing, our calendar year and for most, our business year is half over.  Our industry is recovering well and momentum is gaining!  It is a great feeling.  TCA, your association, is also experiencing the revival.

At our very successful Latin American conference held this past June in Punta Cana, the board and several members participated in a strategic planning session.  Informed by these efforts the Board of Directors set a focus on four primary areas:

  • Maintain our industry recognition as the provider of technical knowledge and know-how
  • TCA membership drive 5/5: 500 within 5 years
  • Broaden, by promotion, the brand recognition of the TCA
  • Continue, through education, that Tilt-Up is the safest form of construction
  • The complete document is available online at: www.tilt-up.org/about

With this revitalized direction, now is the time to get involved in our committee structure and have input.  The committees provide a tremendous benefit to the industry and our members.  It’s easy to get involved, just contact Mitch at mbloomquist@tilt-up.org or one of the committee chairs. They will appreciate your input, besides its fun!

Our fall convention is just around the corner and it’s time to take advantage of the education and networking opportunities we can all benefit from.  There is a good lineup of speakers on the relevant issues we all face today. For example, Jim Baty, our technical director and resident energy code guru, will provide all attendees with the tools and knowledge to take advantage of Tilt-Up’s inherent ability to meet the code and provide designers and contractors with cost effective solutions. This is just one of many issues/opportunities that will be presented.

I am very excited about the new field supervisor track that we are introducing this year.  Even the most experienced supervisors will benefit from the forums and presentations focused on the field while gaining valuable continuing education hours.  If you think these guys are as important to the success of your business as I do, you will bring a few to convention.

A complete listing of the convention programs, location information, registration and more is available online at www.tilt-up.org/convention.  This convention is a must for those planning to take advantage of Tilt-Up’s success.

Enjoy the summer, lots of success, see you during the first week of October in Amelia Island.
