22nd Annual Achievement Awards Program Call for Entries

MOUNT VERNON, IOWA (March 5, 2012) – The Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) – a non-profit international organization that serves to expand and improve the use of Tilt-Up as the preferred construction method – has announced the call for entries for the 22nd installment of the Tilt-Up Achievement Awards.

Established by the TCA in 1992, the Tilt-Up Achievement Awards program honors projects that use site-cast Tilt-Up concrete to introduce new building types, advance industry technology and provide unique solutions to building programs. The winning entries illustrate the variety, beauty and flexibility of the Tilt-Up construction concept.

“All projects submitted are incorporated into our ever expanding project database and become the cornerstone for the association’s marketing efforts for the year ahead,” said Ed Sauter, Executive Director of the TCA. He explains that the program has an extremely large reach and provides projects with global exposure. “Projects are often featured in major concrete industry publications, displayed at premier industry events and used as fodder for expanded articles in Tilt-Up Today and case study presentations at convention.”

Shawn Hickey, Vice President of SiteCast Construction Corporation in Ottawa, Ontario and a past winner of multiple Achievement Awards, states that the Achievement Awards Program is one of the most defining opportunities companies involved in the design and construction of Tilt-Up structures can aspire to participate in.

“It is clear that there are many more companies now involved in taking our industry to new levels, trying new ideas,” said Hickey. “These companies should seek to be rewarded so the industry can learn from their expertise and they can be congratulated for their success. As a member of this association, I want to see the envelope being pushed…that’s why I am a member!”

Industry professionals are encouraged to consider submitting projects for the annual Achievement Awards competition throughout the year. To qualify for consideration, a member of the team that maintains a current TCA membership must submit projects.

The entry deadline for this year’s program is June 29, 2012. To view the program guidelines, criteria and to submit a project, visit www.tilt-up.org/awards. Entries not communicated or received by the entry deadline will be placed into the following year’s program.
