Robert Libs

TCA member Robert E. Libs, 69, of Floyds Knobs, Ind., died Friday, Sept. 24, 2010. The Floyd County native was a graduate of Providence High School and attended Purdue University before returning home to help operate his family business, Arthur M. Libs & Sons. Bob helped build the business into a major award-winning contracting rm now called AML, which is operated by his son, Bobby Libs, and daughter, Chrys Blakeman, and Scott Welch. Bob also developed several real estate projects. More importantly, he was very involved with family, friends and community, having helped establish Noah’s Ark Children’s Home for at risk children, and worked with the Simon Cancer Center, where a musical therapy program was established in the name of Robert and Carol Libs, and with other philanthropic organizations. He was named to the Presidents’ Circle for Indiana University and was a board member for the Indiana University Cancer Foundation. Bob also was on the board of First Savings Bank for 18 years, was a past member of the Floyd County Sheriff’s Posse, a team roper and member of Knights of Columbus in New Albany and an avid golfer and tennis player.
