The 2020 Tilt-Up Convention and Expo is Going Virtual, but it will Remain Human
Español | Translation Sponsored by TCA
Countless organizations have made their event cancelation announcements over the past couple of months. The vast majority, understandably, have expressed how difficult the decision was and how unfortunate it is to be canceling. I feel for those organizations, as I understand what these events mean for our associations and industries. For the TCA, though, we made this decision back in May, and it was an easy one. It was a decision we were proud to make, as it is the right thing to do, and a decision we were prepared to make, as we have something different in store for our members and industry.
2020 has demanded a certain departure from business as usual and so presents a unique opportunity to invest in innovative ways of learning, teaching, making, working, connecting, and caring. The TCA is taking this opportunity not to replace, but to augment our regular programming, making it more inclusive, more efficient, and more responsible, considering the context.
We hope that next year we can see you again in person, but for now, we are looking forward to welcoming you to the virtual 2020 Convention and Expo — not in the same way, but with the same professionalism, energy, authenticity, and gusto that you have come to expect. We are doing so with the support of generous and enthusiastic sponsors and exhibitors, talented and collaborative presenters, and leadership dedicated to advancing the association and industry through this time so that we can be stronger than ever on the other side.
Event details are being published at tilt-up.org/events almost daily, so check that page for schedules, education offerings, special events, and more. For this year, don’t worry about booking a flight, planning for significant time away from the office, or reserving a hotel room. Do make plans to join us virtually during the week of October 5th, and count on engaging with others in what will still be a very human, connection-oriented event.
