Private Certification Events Drive Strong Start to 2026

Growing demand for on-site training brings more than 120 professionals into the ACI/TCA certification program

Interest in professional certification within the tilt-up industry has continued to grow in early 2026 as companies increasingly take advantage of private certification events offered by the Tilt-Up Concrete Association.

Over the past two weeks alone, three private certification programs were conducted for member companies and regional groups, bringing approximately 120 participants into the certification process. These sessions included events for Urban Construction in Dallas, a group of companies in Halifax including Lindsay Construction and BD Stevens, and a program hosted by Sundt in Phoenix.

Each event follows a structured format designed to prepare candidates for the certification exam. Participants begin with a four-hour Tilt-Up 101 preparatory course covering core concepts in tilt-up design, planning, and construction. After a break for lunch, candidates complete the two-hour certification examination administered through the Association’s partnership with the American Concrete Institute.

The private certification program, supported by Dayton Superior Corporation, has become one of the Association’s most valued member services. Now in its fifth year, the concierge-style program allows companies to host certification events directly at their own offices or facilities. The format blends virtual instruction with on-site coordination, making it both convenient and cost-effective for firms seeking to certify multiple employees at once.

Two of the recent sessions were delivered virtually, with Dayton Superior representatives providing on-site coordination, while the Halifax program was conducted in person. This hybrid approach allows the Association to deliver training efficiently while maintaining the interactive and practical focus that has become a hallmark of the program.

Since its launch, the initiative has certified more than 700 individuals across nearly 50 events. By bringing the preparatory course and exam directly to companies and regional groups, the program expands access to professional certification while maintaining the rigorous standards expected of the ACI/TCA credential.

Additional certification activity earlier in the year included a session conducted during World of Concrete, which brought another 60–70 participants into the certification pipeline.

Companies interested in hosting a private certification event can coordinate directly with the Tilt-Up Concrete Association to bring the Tilt-Up 101 preparatory course and certification exam to their offices or regional groups.
