The Tilt-Up Concrete Association continues to advance sustainability through committee work that emphasizes practical guidance, technical judgment, and long-term industry value. As the Sustainability Committee enters its second full year, three new members have joined the group, adding experience across project delivery, materials, and lifecycle performance.
Committee cochairs note that the additions reflect the breadth of expertise needed to evaluate sustainability in real-world tilt-up construction.
“As we enter our second full year, we are honored to welcome three distinguished industry veterans—Hu, Marcus, and Matt—to the Sustainability Committee,” said Kirby Mano, director of national sales at UFP Concrete Forming Solutions. “Their experience will be invaluable as the committee continues to focus on efficiencies, sustainability, and resiliency within the tilt-up industry.”
Erika Winters-Downey, director of structural quality and sustainability at Clayco Design & Engineering, echoed that perspective, noting the importance of learning across disciplines. “It’s encouraging to see strong engagement from across the industry, and we look forward to learning from the expertise our new members bring,” she said.
New Committee Members
Marcus Blackburn, MD

A board-certified pediatrician, military physician, and construction executive, Blackburn brings a unique perspective shaped by nearly two decades in medicine and leadership roles within the Utah Army National Guard. His work in project development focuses on material optimization and reducing embodied carbon, and is informed by a clear understanding of how the built environment affects long-term health and performance.
Hu Montague

Founder of Diligent Services Inc., Montague contributes extensive experience across concrete, structural steel, and jobsite services. His background spans both operations and industry service, with a consistent focus on material efficiency, constructability, and practical execution.
Matt Stickney

A Project Executive with Orion Group Holdings, Stickney has spent nearly 20 years delivering complex tilt-up and structural concrete projects. His experience emphasizes disciplined execution, early decision-making, and the relationship between constructability, cost, and long-term project performance.
Together, these additions broaden the committee’s perspective while reinforcing its focus on practical, scalable approaches to sustainability within tilt-up construction.
