Now Accepting Applicants and Nominations for the John Hart Honorary Scholarship
Español | Español | Translation Sponsored by TCA

As summer winds down and the school year begins, now is an ideal time to consider students in your life—or in your network—who may benefit from the John Hart Honorary Scholarship, which was established to honor one of tilt-up’s most respected and influential engineers.
Created in memory of John Hart, FTCA, this scholarship supports students pursuing structural engineering, particularly transfer students or those changing disciplines—a reflection of John’s own academic path. John began his studies in architecture and pre-engineering at Ball State before transferring to Purdue to study civil engineering; making this move cost him his original scholarship. This experience shaped his desire to help others navigating similar transitions.
John went on to lead a remarkable career at Peak Engineering and made lasting contributions to both the TCA and ACI (American Concrete Institute) communities. His legacy of mentorship, technical excellence, and professional service continues through this fund.
Applications will be available this summer at tiltlab.org, and the next award will be announced this fall. Now is the time to encourage eligible students to apply—or consider making a tax-deductible donation to support the next generation of tilt-up engineers.
