Tilt-Up Industry Influencers

Español | Translation Sponsored by TCA

At a time when information seekers are often met with anonymous opinions, false rumors, and flat out lies, it is important to consider the contextual credibility of those offering advice. A recent study published in Science confirmed what many suspected: fake news and false rumors reach more people, penetrate deeper into the social network, and spread much faster than accurate stories.

According to The Atlantic, the study has already prompted alarm from social scientists. “We must redesign our information ecosystem in the 21st century,” write a group of 16 political scientists and legal scholars in an essay also published in Science. They ask, “How can we create a news ecosystem […] that values and promotes truth?”

With this in mind, the TCA has developed a framework to identify those in our industry who have invested in becoming knowledgeable, qualified, and recognized for their expertise. This listing serves to affirm the experience of professionals dedicated to steering this industry forward into the future with accuracy and competence.

Individuals accumulate points in five categories:

  • Leadership: Individuals receive varying points in this category for service on specific TCA committees and task groups.
  • Credentials: This category awards points to individuals for certification and professional licensure.
  • Engagement: Staying current with best practices and learning from peers in the industry through consistent attendance at TCA events adds greatly to the knowledge base of any industry professional. Points for such engagement are awarded in this category.
  • Authority: Those honored with professional awards from the TCA as well as those authoring articles or books on the subject of tilt-up construction receive points in the authority category.
  • Profile: Accurate and current personal data, including contact information, social media handles, professional credentials, and more, is essential when identifying influencers. Points in this category are awarded based on the completeness of one’s member profile.
