Galloway’s appointment follows the board meeting held in Las Vegas, signifying a pivotal moment in his distinguished career and highlighting his ongoing commitment to advancing the tilt-up construction industry.

Rick Galloway’s journey in the tilt-up concrete construction industry began with a spark of passion during his collegiate years at Auburn University, where he graduated in 1996 with a bachelor of building construction degree from the McWhorter School of Building Science. His early exposure to tilt-up construction at Vratsinas Construction Company (VCC) solidified his dedication to the craft, leading him to join Martin Concrete Construction Inc. in 1998. Over the past 26+ years at Martin Concrete, Galloway has held various roles, including assisting in opening their Nashville office in 2014 and currently serving as executive vice president based out of the Atlanta office. His expertise spans a diverse range of tilt-up projects, from manufacturing and distribution to office spaces and more, showcasing his deep understanding of the industry’s intricacies and challenges.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Rick Galloway is a staunch advocate for tilt-up construction, actively promoting its benefits as an economical, structurally efficient, and aesthetically pleasing building solution. He has presented certified continuing education series for architects, engineers, contractors, and developers, in addition to guest lecturing at esteemed institutions such as Auburn University. Galloway’s commitment to advancing the industry is further evidenced by his tenure on the Tilt-Up Concrete Association’s Board of Directors, having joined in 2019, and his service on the executive committee for the past three years. Additionally, he serves as an industry adviser to the Auburn University Building Science and Construction program and as the president of the Georgia chapter of the American Concrete Institute. His leadership and dedication continues to inspire and shape the future of tilt-up construction.

Alongside Rick Galloway’s election as president, the TCA’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the slate of officers for 2024. Len Overbeek, treasurer, continues to provide invaluable leadership, now also serving as chair of the Canadian Advisory Board. Robert F. Murray takes on the role of vice president, leveraging his experience from Alston Construction Company in Edison, New Jersey. Together with President Galloway, these officers form a dynamic team dedicated to advancing the mission and vision of the Tilt-Up Concrete Association.

Additionally, the TCA’s Board of Directors created three new ex officio positions during the recent meeting, reflecting the association’s commitment to inclusivity and collaboration. These positions include the chair of the Canadian Advisory Board, the chair of the Mexican Advisory Board, and the president of the Tilt-Up Industry Leaders of Tomorrow (TILT) board.
