A Thriving Hub Of Education

Español | Translation Sponsored by TCA

The 2023 Tilt-Up Convention and Expo in Tampa, Florida, offered a strong focus on education, living up to its reputation as the premier gathering of the global tilt-up industry. Attendees were presented with a diverse range of educational opportunities, all designed to empower industry professionals with valuable insights and knowledge that could be directly applied to their work.

The event boasted specialized education tracks tailored to different interests and expertise levels. The Construction Track provided field supervisors and project managers with critical insights, including the opportunity to earn ACI/TCA Tilt-Up Supervisor or Technician recertification. The Design Track was curated for professionals involved in designing and engineering tilt-up projects, offering in-depth education specific to their needs.

A standout feature was the Spanish Education Track, a testament to the industry’s commitment to inclusivity. This two-day program and tilt-up certification opportunity celebrated and supported the Hispanic workforce, both in the United States and beyond. It recognized the importance of providing content in native languages to promote knowledge sharing and growth.

For those new to tilt-up construction, Tilt-Up 101 served as a comprehensive introduction, covering basic design, management, and construction principles. Tilt-Up Engineering 101, on the other hand, delved into structural engineering designs and construction methods for tilt-up wall panels, benefiting both newcomers and experienced professionals in the field.

This educational program was made possible through the generous sponsorship of industry leaders, with the Spanish Education Track sponsored by Tilt-Up Asesores. The Construction Track was supported by Integrated Window Systems LLC and Tiger Concrete and Screed LLC, while Dayton Superior Corporation and Needham DBS sponsored the Design Track. White Cap provided sponsorship for Tilt-Up Construction 101 and IconX LLC supported Tilt-Up Engineering 101. The keynote sponsor, Total Integrated Panel Systems, enriched the event’s educational offerings.

In closing, the 2023 Tilt-Up Convention and Expo was a thriving hub of education, thanks to the dedication of industry professionals and the generous support of our sponsors. The event exemplified the industry’s commitment to continuous learning and growth, setting the stage for a brighter future in tilt-up construction.
