Pivot and Persevere

This year, we couldn’t be together. But we virtually shared space. We weren’t able to gather and share critical and valuable knowledge. But we found a way to disseminate information. We missed the live demonstrations, exhibits, and project tours. So we held them online. We couldn’t celebrate, together, the industry’s achievements and success. But we pivoted and persevered.
We were the community. Despite being spread across the globe. Despite the unrelenting grip of this pandemic. Despite the financial hardship. We were the community.
It’s not been a secret, but perhaps it’s never been more evident, that this event—this association, is not about the delivery of content. It’s not about the sales of goods or the collection of credits. It’s about being a community.
The community is our most cherished asset. The education, innovation, and growth all come from it and don’t exist without it. We must continue to cultivate this community regardless of the circumstances and in the face of difficulty and uncertainty.
It took some effort to participate in the convention this year. More for some, less for others. Not as much as a flight. Not as much as a week away from the office, but it took some effort. Thanks to the generosity and unwavering support from a group of companies that believe in the power of this community, it didn’t take money.
Now you know, it’s worth it. It’s inspiring. It’s energizing. Now you know, it’s not to be missed.
