Powers Brown Architecture<\/strong> announces the opening of the firm\u2019s Canadian Headquarters in Toronto, providing architecture, interior design and urban design services to Ontario and surrounding provinces. Building upon the firm\u2019s successful Canadian operations, this brings the firm\u2019s total number of offices to five \u00ac\u2013 including the two-year-old Atlantic Canada location and the firm\u2019s first international office, along with its Houston, Washington, D.C. and Denver offices.<\/p>\n Angelo Jr. Rapanos, OAA, AIBC, AAA, MRAIC, will serve as managing principal for all Canadian operations. Rapanos received his master\u2019s degree at the University of Calgary, Alberta, after graduating from Royal St. George\u2019s College in Toronto. He has been practicing for the last 10 years in Ontario and has experience in both the Vancouver and Calgary markets. His extensive experience has included stints at Arthur Erickson and Regional Leader for Western Canada with HOK.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve seen several American firms come into Ontario in the past several years but none as culturally well-suited to the market as Powers Brown Architecture. I believe the firm\u2019s approach will be well received by the client base here. In addition, they have been working in Canada, so we have a good running start,\u201d said Rapanos. \u201cI am excited to be leading the way.\u201d<\/p>\n Rapanos will expand on the successful effort of the Atlantic Canada Office led by Principal Bruce Walck, AIA, OAA, NLAA, MRAIC. The Atlantic Canada office, located in St. John\u2019s, designed and will oversee construction of Canada\u2019s first four-story Value Office\u2122 building, and was Design Architect for the country\u2019s first Zero-Net Carbon Warehouse in Nova Scotia. Other notable projects include a town hall renovation for the Town of Torbay, Nexen Energy\u2019s St. John\u2019s office, Verafin\u2019s interior office expansion, Freedom 55 Financials St. John\u2019s office, a new Senior Living facility, and a new apartment facility.<\/p>\n \u201cPowers Brown Architecture\u2019s approach to our work and clients is a cultural system we believe in and Angelo believes in as well.
