I was taught to complain less and do more! Specifically my mentor, my father, taught us to get involved if you want to effect change. We had no right to criticize others unless we were willing to be involved. When I think of our association, who\u2019s members represent an industry with such a huge potential, I\u2019m excited to be involved. As an industry, Tilt-Up has matured to the point where the facilities our industry designs and constructs are second to none. Just look at the annual awards for proof. No longer do we struggle to prove that Tilt-Up is the most economical, safest, efficient, and most resilient. It is not by accident that the industry is where it is today. Many hard working individuals have helped us get here. The volume of opportunities before us is staggering, but you need to be involved to take advantage of those opportunities.<\/p>\n
The TCA convention October 2nd through the 4th is a great place to get involved. Meet the committee chairs and offer some of your time. The Annual meeting at World of Concrete<\/a> on February 7, 2013 provides another venue for your involvement. Committees will present their plans for 2013 and review 2012. Additionally, guest speaker Ed Sullivan, Portland Cement Association (PCA) chief economist, will provide insight into the future of the cement industry. There really isn\u2019t any good excuse to not get involved. Our future is bright! Join us in setting the direction of Tilt-Up!
