Register here (http:\/\/bit.ly\/woc4free<\/a>) or use source code A35 on any WOC registration form<\/b><\/i>.<\/p>\n TH124 – Tilt-Up Basics: Design and Build Using Tilt-Up as a System<\/b> The Tilt-Up wall is only one component of the building system.\u00a0 To best utilize the benefits and efficiency of the Tilt-Up concept, the entire design and construction process must be evaluated.\u00a0\u00a0 This session will explain the basic concepts of Tilt-Up as a system including a brief history of Tilt-Up, building types and architectural expression, design parameters and specifications. Planning the Tilt-Up building, including site consideration, foundation systems, the casting slab, forming and special features and casting panels will be discussed. Erection and safety, finishes, sustainability & special construction including resources will also be covered.<\/p>\n Presented by Tilt-Up Concrete Association<\/em> This seminar presents overview of construction areas in which a tilt-up supervisor is expected to be knowledgeable: safety, plan reading, scheduling, site preparations, foundations, slabs-on-grade, layout, forming, concrete placement and properties, erection and structural systems. These areas of knowledge comprise the essential basis for achieving a status as a Certified Tilt-Up Technician or Supervisor. Work experience, length of certification, certification levels and other program criteria will be discussed. The Tilt-Up Technician\/Supervisor workbook, ACI Publication CP50 (07), is the official study guide for written exam and is included with exam THTUS registration fee.<\/p>\n IMPORTANT:<\/strong> Seminar Only attendees should purchase copy of the workbook at the WOC bookstore to serve as the handout for this seminar.<\/p>\n NOTE:<\/strong> The closed-book, two-hour written exam consisting of 80 multiple-choice questions based on ACI publication CP50 (07) is scheduled 4 pm \u2013 6 pm, immediately following the review seminar. Separate registrations and fees required for 4-hour review TH407 ($185; $215 after 12\/2\/13) and written exam THTUS ($245).<\/p>\n Presented by the Tilt-Up Concrete Association and the American Concrete Institute. Participants who score 70% or above will be certified as an ACI Tilt-Up Technician<\/strong>. Upon verification of work experience, credential will be upgraded to ACI Tilt-Up Supervisor<\/strong>. Work experience forms available at the examination or directly from ACI. Separate registration and $245 written exam fee required \u2013 exam fee includes ACI Publication CP50 (07), a $110 value.<\/p>\n Attendees who register for the exam will automatically receive the Tilt-Up Technician\/Supervisor workbook, ACI Publication CP50 (07).
