{"id":2894,"date":"2013-08-16T09:21:42","date_gmt":"2013-08-16T14:21:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/72.167.124.155\/tilt-uptoday\/?p=2894"},"modified":"2015-06-08T02:27:20","modified_gmt":"2015-06-08T07:27:20","slug":"tca-announces-2013-convention-education-partners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tilt-up.org\/tilt-uptoday\/es\/2013\/08\/16\/tca-announces-2013-convention-education-partners\/","title":{"rendered":"La TCA anuncia los socios educativos de su convenci\u00f3n de 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) \u2013 the global authority for the tilt-up industry \u2013 announces the University of Houston, Keystone Concrete Placement, and Seretta Construction as the official education partners for the 2013 TCA Convention.<\/p>\n<p>In an effort to bring students to the <a href=\"http:\/\/tilt-up.org\/tilt-uptoday\/es\/events\/2013-tca-convention\/\" target=\"_blank\">TCA Annual Convention<\/a>, the TCA has partnered with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tech.uh.edu\/programs\/undergraduate\/construction-management\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University of Houston\u2019s Department of Construction Management<\/a>. Joining the University of Houston as Education Partners are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keystoneconcrete.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Keystone Concrete Placement<\/a> y <a href=\"http:\/\/seretta.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Seretta Construction<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Keystone Concrete Placement is a full service, turnkey commercial concrete construction company based out of Houston, Texas, and Seretta Construction is a leading commercial concrete subcontractor specializing in tilt-wall construction and specialty slabs. Andrew McPherson, President, Seretta Construction, is Treasurer of the TCA Board of Directors.<\/p>\n<p>Keystone Concrete Placement and Seretta Construction will provide complimentary convention registration for as many as 100 students interested in learning more about tilt-up concrete construction. In addition, representatives from both companies will visit with the students to discuss the tilt-up industry during class this September. At the Convention, these companies will provide mentors for the students, guiding them through the event and serving as points of contact following the event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving students involved adds so much energy to the event. We are excited to be working with our education partners and <a href=\"https:\/\/tilt-up.org\/tilt-uptoday\/es\/sustaining\/\">sustaining members<\/a> to provide this opportunity for the students of the University of Houston,\u201d said Mitch Bloomquist, Managing Director, Tilt-Up Concrete Association.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Construction Management at the University of Houston\u2019s College of Technology offers both an undergraduate and graduate degree in the field of Construction Management. The program provides graduates with knowledge and skills necessary to join the construction industry. Such knowledge and skills include construction methods, structural systems, contract administration, specifications, planning, estimating, scheduling, and evaluating project performance. The four-year program is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConcrete is a fundamental building material for modern civilizations. Tilt-up concrete construction is a technique that made such material so much more versatile,\u201d said Neil N. Eldin, Ph.D., P.E., Director of the Department of Construction Management at the University of Houston\u2019s College of Technology. \u201cIt is crucial for CM students to be proficient in the use of tilt-up concrete panels. The cost effectiveness and the process efficiency make this technique superior to other building methods.
